THE ESSENCE OF OUR SPIRITS

RAW MATERIALS

We try to infuse each of our products with a harmony of local flavours. In Valle d’Aosta, botanicals and fruits grow in the shadow of the perilous peaks and are surrounded by austere but bountiful nature.

Our supply chain begins with the direct cultivation of most of our raw materials, which are used directly in our products.

génépy

For example, at Rosset Terroir, the group’s farm, we cultivate the Génépy: the heart of our production, it is a native plant of Valle d’Aosta that grows at very high altitudes, over 1,300 metres, and is also known by its scientific name of Artemisia umbelliformis. We then try to enhance the different types found in our mountains, including the Artemisia Genipi. Smaller and rarer, normally known as male Génépy, it is used in our famous Génépy Centenario, characterised by more bitter and less vegetal notes.

saffron

The balsamic properties of these botanicals have also made them ideal ingredients to add to the new recipe of the company’s historic liqueur, Ebo Lebo.

The true distinguishing feature of Ebo Lebo Gran Riserva, whose recipe has been revisited in recent years, however, is the addition of saffron, a precious spice that has been present in the Valle d’Aosta since the 1600s and which we have now revived and cultivated for our spirits.

marc

Our research has also led to the careful selection of marc from the Valle d’Aosta region, which is used to create our grappas. Today, we distil most of the marc from our region through our discontinuous bain-marie still, thus enhancing the unique character and richness of the grapes of origin, often indigenous, and given to us by the many winegrowers in the region.
