SAINT ROCH SPIRITS
Deep in the heart of the picturesque Valle d’Aosta, the smallest Italian region, the Distillerie Saint Roch is home to a centuries-old tradition in the production of spirits and liqueurs of excellence. Here, the basic pillars boil down to a few, but essential elements: a deep love for the land and an innate passion for the art of distillation.
The history of Saint Roch Distilleries has its roots as far back as the 1700s.
At that time, the Levi family operated in the distillation business in the picturesque village of Campodolcino, Lombardy. Guglielmo Levi relocated his business to Aosta in the late 1800s, founding his Distillery in the village of Sant’Orso and began production of his grappa.
As the years rolled by, the business prospered and in 1968, Guglielmo’s daughter Natalina, together with her husband Cesare Rosset, opened the Distillerie Saint Roch in the municipality of Quart, continuing her father’s legacy. The ancient walls of the Levi Distillery gave way to new, modern and technologically advanced production spaces, while keeping the deep connection to tradition intact.
The union of the Levi and Rosset families turned out to be a happy union, allowing the century-old tradition of the Levi distillers to be combined with the strong and independent spirit of the mountain and peasant identity of the Rossets, farmers, landowners and producers of fine grapes.
Over the years, the Distillerie Saint Roch continued to grow and innovate, capturing international markets and exporting the essence of Valle d’Aosta to the world. In a reality increasingly oriented towards innovation and enhancement of the surrounding environment, with a production plant powered entirely by renewable energies, the Distillerie Saint Roch persists in transmitting the secrets of the distillation of yesteryear, offering unique experiences. Under the leadership of the third generation of the family, headed by Nicola Rosset, Natalina and Cesare’s son, the family tradition continues to flourish in the footsteps of history.
